Pro Wrestling Tees crate June 2022
Welcome to this month's Pro Wrestling Tee's mystery crate for June 2022. This costs $29.95 for the crate and as I live in the UK another £14.99 for shipping so $44.94 in total (just under £37). In advance we know who is featured in the crate and each month you receive:-
- 2 exclusive to this crate
designed t-shirts
- 1 autographed 8 x 10 photo
by a legend or independent wrestler
- 1 exclusive to crate Micro
Brawler mini figure
- 1 exclusive to crate
collectors lapel pin
- other potential items such
as a sticker, DVD, comics etc
While the t-shirts can be quite hit and miss, they are
exclusive to this crate only so can’t be brought and the Micro Brawler figure
is mostly an older more forgotten about legend but the autographs are generally
really decent to have and each month there's usually a random item (recently
there has been Roddy Piper 'They Live' sunglasses for example).
In advance we know which
wrestlers are featured before buying, July included items from:-
- Andre The Giant
- Ruby Soho
- Scotty 2 Hotty
- X-Pac
- D-Lo Brown
- Evil Uno
- Awesome Kong
In a rare move by Pro Wrestling
Tee’s, they announced in advance that the CM Punk item is a t-shirt (most
likely to boost sales) so we know that won’t be the signed autograph, this will
most likely be Evil Uno. Usually the older legend on the list is the Micro Brawler
but that could be either Scotty 2 Hotty or D-Lo Brown. In the UK, the crate was
paid for at the end of June and shipped on X and received on X
T-shirt 1
Straight out of the box and the
first shirt is this design. I believe the image is Nighthawks which is a famous
US painting (a quick Google search later and it's based on Nighthawks by Edward
Hopper from 1942), changing the image to all 4 members of Best Friends. It is a
cool image from an iconic painting but on a t-shirt? I'm not so sure I will be
wearing this, the black t-shirt doesn't really make it stand out to me and it's
maybe a bit too obscure? Bear in mind getting a crate a month over a year gives
24 t-shirts from Pro Wrestling Tee's alone there's lots of choice and it has to
be good to be worn and not stored away
Sticker
The next item out of the box is this cool 'Switchblade' Jay White sticker. I was hoping the Jay White item would be the signed photo but still, this sticker is still decent. With the recent 'Forbidden Door' between AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling a bigger audience is getting to see Jay White at the moment and he has a big future ahead of him
T-shirt 2
So this is a mix of both Andre
The Giant and Adam Scherr in one item which is unique and rather than standard
black, it's always nice to see a different coloured shirt. Based on an old
style poster promoting 'see The Giant and The Titan collide!' as a dream match
(in reality, it wouldn't be a good match). As a shirt it's different and always
nice to get anything Andre The Giant related, Adam Scherr looks like he has two
devil like horns with his hair on top of his head. Will i wear it though? not
likely.
Micro Brawler
Next is thins month's Micro
Brawler figure and we get One Man Gang (who would later go on to be Akeem).
Wearing his traditional biker look outfit he was a a mid card wrestler from WWE
in the late 80's into 1990 (later forming the tag team Twin Towers with the Big
Boss Man). This is a cool retro item and a nice addition to the collection and
recognisable instantly for those that watched WWE at the time. Definitely one
of the better Micro Brawlers received.
Collector's pin
Eddie Kingston has never had higher stock in his career than he does right now in AEW with electric promo's and great matches constantly. This pin goes alongside a similar t-shirt given out a few months ago and is one of the better pin's made exclusively for these crates. The 'Mad King' is making a big name for himself and this is a welcome addition to the collection.
Key ring
Next up is this Taz key ring based on a Micro Brawler. I'm sure its something good for fan's of Taz....
Headlocked comic
We get one of these almost every
month now and this month features a story by Booker T. These usually feature a
short story seemingly from a wrestler and this month is the 5 time WCW champion
Booker T. Some of these are genuinely good and fun and are all varied and the
artwork in them is quite good and I imagine if you were a big Booker T fan
it would be a must have item.
Autographed photo
Having gone back through he
list everyone so far has been featured? Does this mean someone is featured
twice? Maybe Taz to make up for the key ring we got?
Having now opened the item, it is a Kris Statlander signed photo. the image is quite a good pose from Revolution of March 2022 when she fought Leyla Hirsch as part of the buy in to the PPV. Most often we get AEW current stars with these autographs which is a good thing and this is a good addition to the collection to add.
All in all? Some good items included
but overall i think it's a bit underwhelming this month, the t-shirts don't
quite hit the mark for me the the Taz key-ring just isn't great for me and
double Kris Statlander doesn't make up for it. This box with it's list of
advertised wrestlers had potential to be so much better (maybe this lead me to
have high expectations) and I know they struggled seeling this crate as they
were offering 35% off to anyone that hadn't purchased it already.. Maybe rather
than subscribe each month it's buy on a box by box basis depending on who's
included. Anyway, next month, July 2022 features:-
- CM Punk
- Ruby Soho
- Scotty 2 Hotty
- X-Pac
- D-Lo Brown
- Evil Uno
- Awesome Kong
Early predictions will be Evil
Uno autograph and either Scotty 2 Hotty or D'Lo Brown as the Micro
Brawler...until next month
