Pro Wrestling Tee's mystery crate July 2022 featuring CM Punk, Ruby Soho, Scotty 2 Hotty, D-Lo Brown, Evil Uno and Awesome Kong

Welcome to this month's Pro Wrestling Tee's mystery crate for July 2022. This costs $29.95 for the crate and as I live in the UK another £14.99 for shipping so $44.94 in total (just under £37). In advance we know who is featured in the crate and each month you receive:-

  • 2 exclusive to this crate designed t-shirts
  • 1 autographed 8 x 10 photo by a legend or independent wrestler
  • 1 exclusive to crate Micro Brawler mini figure
  • 1 exclusive to crate collectors lapel pin
  • other potential items such as a sticker, DVD, comics etc

While the  t-shirts can be quite hit and miss, they are exclusive to this crate only so can’t be brought and the Micro Brawler figure is mostly an older more forgotten about legend but the autographs are generally really decent to have and each month there's usually a random item (recently there has been Road Warrior Animal gym work out bag for example).

In advance we know which wrestlers are featured before buying, July included items from:-

  • CM Punk
  • Ruby Soho
  • Scotty 2 Hotty
  • X-Pac
  • D-Lo Brown
  • Evil Uno
  • Awesome Kong

In a rare move by Pro Wrestling Tee’s, they announced in advance that the CM Punk item is a t-shirt (most likely to boost sales) so we know that won’t be the signed autograph, this will most likely be Evil Uno? Usually the older legend on the list is the Micro Brawler but that could be either Scotty 2 Hotty or D-Lo Brown. In the UK, the crate was paid for at the end of June and shipped on 20th July 2022.

T-shirt 1

CM Punk 'It's CLOBBERING time' t-shirt. This large cartoon clock has clearly been 'clobbered' by CM Punk to the point that parts are bursting out. An homage to his actions when walking out he listens to his wrist (hence the clock) and announces 'It's clobbering time' (which he took from The Thing from Marvel's Fantastic Four). For die hard CM Punk fans this is a must have item and it's only available if you brought this crate in advance, you can't buy it now. Overall it screams more cartoon that a wrestling shirt so not something I might wear but nice to have and may be worn in the future.

Sticker

X-Pac micro brawler sticker. The Micro Brawler range is unique for Pro Wrestling Tee's and something they seem to be having more and more of a focus on (last month we got a Taz micro brawler image key ring). This month's sticker is of the X-Pac micro brawler in DX attire. Usually the sticker included is really cool and something you try and put somewhere on display but this month is just a cartoon image...but the it's just a sticker, it's fine.

T-shirt 2

Ruby Soho 'The Runaway' t-shirt. when Ruby Soho debuted in AEW around a year ago, she had the moniker The Runway at that time alongside the new name 'Soho' (as opposed to her name Ruby Riot in WWE) and new entrance music. The Runaway gimmick and image seemed to be quietly dropped as she quickly built up steam in the AEW women's division to become one of their top stars. Honestly I think this is based on an image maybe from an album cover or some artwork of some kind. for me it's a bit too obscure and just on a standard black t-shirt so not somethin I would wear.

Micro Brawler

Awesome Kong. One of only 4 women that have entered the men's Royal Rumble (and eliminated someone) but she is largely forgotten by WWE now but she most memorably had her best run with TNA prior to that and being a founding member of the AEW women's roster in it's early days. Having her as a Micro Brawler is probably one of the most successful females they have given so far and a welcome addition. There are also 250 chase variants of this but sadly I never received one of those.

Collector's pin

D-Lo Brown. Anyone that has ever seen D-Lo Brown in action will be familiar with the side to side head movement he does (kind of like a bobble head but left to right rather than backwards and forwards) and somehow this pin manages to re-create that unique D-Lo Brown trait!! Similar to the recent Dusty Rhodes doing the bionic elbow and Honky Tonk Man's dancing legs from recent pin's, this is also a great item and unexpected. There are also 100 chase variants of this pin given out as well but sadly I didn't get one of those.

Iron on patch

Evil Uno. Who knew iron on patches were even a thing any more? Still this is something different this month and something you can imagine someone like Ruby Soho would have on her denim jacket (it also reminds me of The Bar tag team of Sheamus and Cesaro who had long jackets with badges sewn on). And instead oh having to sew it on, it looks like it can just be ironed on,,,,you know to save all that time you spend sewing badges on.

Headlocked comic

X-Pac. Sean 'X-Pac' Waltman must have a tonne of stories he can tell from his years in the business. As part of the infamous Kliq group from the New Generation era he was also the only person to be in both D-Z and the nWo factions in WWE and WCW respectively. If you think of wrestlers you would like to write an autobiography of their life, Sean Waltman would be one but until then, we get this short story in comic form. These are usually worth reading and each one from a wrestler is a different story and style as well and are always welcome in each crate.

Autographed photo

Scotty 2 Hotty! A staple of late 90's WWE with Too Cool (alongside The Uso's father Rikishi and Jerry Lawler's son Grandmaster Sexay), who can forget Scotty 2 Hotty and his finishing move The Worm? He is a wrestler that anyone that watched WWE at that time would remember with a smile on their face from the energetic entrances down to the ring, the decent matches usually with shades being put on at some point as they stop to dance. He was recently a trainer with NXT and released late last year I believe so it looks like Pro Wrestling Tee's have snapped him up for this autograph. This is a very welcome addition to the collection.

All in all?

I think this is better than last month's box where we got a small Taz micro brawler key ring. They are seeming to lean more towards their Micro Brawler range merchandise more and more with this month have an X-Pac micro brawler sticker but then this range is unique to them and collectible to some. While the autograph is the most desirable item in these boxes, the biggest feature is the t-shirts as they have 2 of them and while these 2 are better than last month's 2 I am not sure if they are something I will be wearing myself. Regardless, Scotty 2 Hotty is a legend from the Attitude era of WWE and a welcome addition to my collection of signed photo's and the pin is different and unique. These boxes try to be diverse and feature different wrestlers each month for variety and sometimes there is an item that does have a wow factor and equally some items that seem to make me question the value of these boxes but this month most items are kind of in the middle of that

Anyway, next month, July 2022 features:-

  • Owen Hart
  • Adam Cole
  • FTR
  • King Harley Race
  • The Godfather
  • Lance Archer
  • The British Bulldog

Early predictions, the autograph wont be FTR as that would be two signing it and sadly it can't be Owen Hart, Harley Race or The British Bulldog so that leaves just Adam Cole, Godfather and Lance Archer so i would expect it to be Lance. Interestingly, August marks the 30th anniversary of SummerSlam '92 at Wembley Stadium in London, this featured the main event of The British Bulldog winning the Intercontinental Title off Bret Hart in a classic match and a special t-shirt that is given out in Wrestle Crate UK's August box so next month there will be two Bulldog items, will this one be another t-shirt or pin? Adam Cole was a shirt given out a few months ago so likely isn't going to be a shirt again next month so potentially the comic for him? The Micro Brawler is usually an older legend so could be Harley Race or Godfather (or potentially Davey Boy Smith) so could genuinely be the best Brawler they have ever given out!!
